rosing

rosing was inspired by someone else’s childhood memory during Typhoon Rosing, when a prolonged brownout kept their family indoors. While the storm bent the trees outside and filled the night with fear, the family gathered inside and played cards.

Painted from a top view, the artwork shows the contrast between the dark, restless storm and the warm gold at the center. The gold represents the strength of a family united by God, a precious and enduring force that cannot easily be shaken. Inside the home, love becomes warmth, shelter, and joy.

The storm represents the forces outside our control. The gold represents a family that continues to choose one another, even when life becomes frightening.
