The story behind the painting

i've always been a little blue.

not entirely unhappy. just a little sad, even on days when everything seems fine.

i can be happy and still feel sad. i can love my life and still complain about it. i can be grateful for everything i have and still wish some things were different.

for a long time, i thought these feelings contradicted each other. that being grateful meant i had no reason to be unhappy.

but i've learned that two things can be true at once.

this painting is about that little sadness that lives quietly alongside happiness.

most days, i'm happy.

just a little blue.

About the artwork

a little blue explores the quiet coexistence of happiness and sadness.

a warm field of golden yellow dominates the canvas, interrupted by a small, deep blue shape and softened by layers of white and cream.

the yellow represents the happiness that fills most of my life, while the blue is a reminder that sadness doesn't always disappear just because we have reasons to be grateful.
